Reason
for my request:
Apart from this , government has taken steps to even issue tickets for speeding even when traffic lights are green but at some places this initiatives does seems to be constructive as drivers are still speeding that made me to request the locations where these tickets are issued so that i will be aware about distribution pattern and some of the hotspots where tickets are issued often. I will try to make ascending order sequence of these spots so can i can think about the reasons why some intersections got higher number for tickets issued than the others.

I like your idea and I can see you have done your research. I would just add that you ask for the data on a map because they probably have that for their own analysis. Otherwise you could end up with a long list of raw data of addresses.
ReplyDeleteI like the topic you chose as speeding related accidents are very serious and common in the city. I also can see based on your reason that you have done some amount of research and is knowledgeable about the topic before asking for a FOI request. One thing just remember to capitalize the s in Surrey
ReplyDeleteHi Chasdeep,
ReplyDeleteYour FOI request is detailed and well-structured. It’s great to see the research behind it. You might consider asking for a visual representation of the data, like a heat map, for easier analysis. Great work!
Hi Chasdeep, your FOI request is strong and backed by solid research. To make it even better, you could refine the wording for clarity and ensure proper formatting, like capitalizing “Surrey” consistently. Also, asking for data in a mapped format could make analysis more insightful. Great job overall.
ReplyDeleteHi Chasdeep,
ReplyDeleteYou clearly stated the information you seek in your well-structured FOI request. Using previous information and the larger public safety context, you have strongly argued for your request. One thing I would like to suggest is to simplify longer sentences and also check for grammatical errors.
Hello, The purpose is to compare these figures with previous years to understand how effective speeding prevention measures are and identify areas where speeding remains a major issue. You also want to analyze ticket distribution to determine which intersections are high-risk for speeding. You could also request data on whether specific measures, like speed cameras, contributed to a reduction in speeding violations to better assess their effectiveness.
